DERRICK STRANG

Derrick, lovingly known as Father Time, is the rhythmic foundation of STRIVE Roots. A graduate of the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, Derrick brings a lifetime of dedication, skill, and passion to every performance. His steady groove, musical versatility, and deep understanding of rhythm help drive the band's sound and keep audiences moving. Beyond the stage, Derrick is passionate about teaching and mentoring aspiring musicians, sharing his knowledge with the next generation of timekeepers and rhythm makers. Whether performing, teaching, or inspiring others through music, he believes rhythm is a universal language that connects people, builds confidence, and brings communities together.
NATHAN WEGNER

Nate brings depth, and technical expertise to STRIVE Roots as the band's bass player. With a degree in Sound Engineering & proficiency in a wide range of instruments, he combines musical talent with a finely tuned ear for sound. Nate is the behind-the-scenes force who helps ensure every performance sounds its best. Passionate about sharing music with others, he teaches music ensembles for all ages, helping everyone from individuals to full bands develop their skills, confidence, and love for making music together.
